Dr. Stella Apostolaki, Executive Director of the Center of Excellence in Sustainability at The American College of Greece, and Dr. Alexia Polissidis, Fellow of the Center of Excellence in Sustainability and Director of Research Grants at ACG, represented The American College of Greece at the 11th Our Ocean Conference in Mombasa, Kenya. At the conference, ACG announced two research initiatives focused on ocean sustainability, coastal resilience, and women’s participation in marine science.

Following the conference, Dr. Apostolaki briefed the Hellenic Parliament on key outcomes, including new global commitments, the expansion of Marine Protected Areas, the implementation of the High Seas Treaty, and the importance of local communities, scientific research, and cross-sector collaboration in advancing ocean protection.
