ACG 150

Overview

The Center of Excellence in Shipping, Logistics & Energy (CoESLE) promotes the intellectual, pedagogical and outreach infrastructure necessary to make Greece a leading innovator in logistics, shipping and transportation. Through fostering innovative research, teaching and public outreach in these fields by means of academic programs, fellowships, internships, lectures, policy papers, media productions, symposia and conferences, the CoESLE seeks to help propel Greece’s economic growth.

The CoESLE provides a forum for the interchange of ideas between transport researchers, managers, policy makers and educators from Greece and all over the world, from a perspective that is multi-modal, multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral. In addition to other unique roles, the CoESLE identifies emerging issues and opportunities of a policy, managerial or technical nature that will influence future logistics, shipping and transportation research, policy, management and education. In this way, the Center intends to play a decisive leadership role in linking research and practice.

Mission

Providing the Intellectual, Pedagogical and Outreach infrastructure necessary to make Greece a leading innovator in Shipping, Logistics, and Energy.

Vision

To be the intersection of education, industry and public policy that drives innovation in Greece’s shipping, logistics, and energy sectors.

Impact

The CoESLE aims to develop and communicate state-of-the-art knowledge and technologies to design, manage and operate innovative, effective, safe and sustainable transportation networks. The methods and solutions we develop will provide high-value solutions to numerous complex socio-economic challenges in transportation and contribute to the overall development of Greece. We establish and expand the intellectual, pedagogical and outreach infrastructure necessary to make Greece a leading innovator in logistics, shipping and transportation through education, research, public policy, and public service. The CoESLE focuses on the creation, development and collaborative networks to facilitate further development in the shipping sector and propose improvements in the energy industry in Greece by means of:

Promoting efficient and sustainable transportation systems
Developing public policy research & advocacy that opens new opportunities for innovation in the shipping and infrastructure industries
Promoting scientific research & educational activities that are responsive to real-time industry challenges
