ACG 150

What is ACG 150

Looking towards the 150th year of The American College of Greece in 2025, ACG’s leaders asked:

What are Greece’s greatest present and future needs?
How can ACG assure the best futures for our students and Greece?

These questions gave birth to ACG 150, a strategic plan aimed at advancing ACG’s tradition of educational excellence while simultaneously making a material contribution to the economic and social vitality of Greece and the promotion of Hellenic culture.

A centerpiece of ACG 150 is the creation and development of three institutes — Institute for Hellenic Culture and the Liberal Arts; Institute for Hellenic Growth and Prosperity; Institute of Public Health — as the foundation for leveraging the College’s economic, cultural and social impact.

Mission

To add distinctive and sustainable value to our students, Greece, American education, Hellenic heritage, and the global community through transformative teaching, scholarship and service.

Vision

To position ACG as a unique educational resource to support the holistic development of students as well as Greece’s comprehensive wellbeing and to promote Hellenic values and traditions.

President’s Message
ACG 150 builds on the College's nearly 150-year history to address some of the most critical challenges and opportunities Greece faces in the 21st century as well as to extend the influence of Hellenic values and traditions that reach back thousands of years. It is a plan to bring out the best in our students and the country we have served since our relocation to Athens from Smyrna in 1923.
