In January 2026, the EU-funded ISLANDS Marie Slodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network held an international Winter School in Ponte di Legno, Italy, followed by the IEEE International Symposium on Joint Communications and Sensing. The events brought together over 50 doctoral researchers, academics, and industry experts to exchange ideas on next-generation wireless technologies.
The ACG Research Center was represented by two ISLANDS PhD candidates hosted at ACG, Mr. Nima Imani and Mr. Mubashar Sarfraz, who are supervised by Prof. Constantinos Papadias, the ISLANDS project’s Scientific Manager. Contributions from leading companies such as Ericsson, Nokia, and Bosch further strengthened the link between research, innovation, and real-world impact. The strong participation and international collaboration underscore ISLANDS’ commitment to advanced doctoral training and reinforce ACG-RC’s role in shaping future leaders in wireless research.
