Dr. Constantinos B. Papadias is ACG’s Associate Vice President for Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies. At ACG, he is also the Executive Director of the Research, Technology and Innovation Network (RTIN), the Head of the Smart Wireless Future Technologies (SWiFT) Lab, Professor of Information Technology and was the founding Scientific Director of the ACG Research Center. Prior to these, he was the Dean of Athens Information Technology (AIT), in Athens, Greece, where he was also Professor and Head of the Broadband Wireless and Sensor Networks (B-WiSE) Research Group. He has held Adjunct Professorships at several Universities, currently with Aalborg University and with the University of Cyprus. He has been active in IT-related research, addressing areas such as signal processing and machine learning, wireless telecom systems & networks, biomedical engineering and energy efficient technologies for over 30 years. He has published over 250 scientific papers, 12 patents and 4 books and has received more than 11000 citations and several recognitions for his work, including 4 best paper awards. He has participated in and led several EU-funded research projects, including his current role as Scientific Manager in the Doctoral Network project ISLANDS on the topic of integrated sensing and communications for future vehicular systems and his recent roles as Research Coordinator in the ITN Project PAINLESS (2018-2022) and Technical Coordinator in the EU CHIST-ERA project FIREMAN. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), of the European Alliance of Innovation (EAI) and of the International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (AIIA). From 2020-2022 he was a member of Greece’s sectorial scientific council of Engineering Sciences, which supports the country’s National Council for Research and Innovation. He recently served as Director-at-Large of the IEEE Signal Processing Society for Region 8 (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
