Ms. Despina Gavrili is lecturer and internship administrator in the Department of Tourism, Hospitality and Sports at ACG. Despina holds a BSc in Business Administration from the Hellenic Open University, a BSc in Marketing Management from Deree College – The American College of Greece, and an MSc in Tourism Marketing from the University of Surrey in the UK. She is currently pursuing a MEd in Adult Education at the Hellenic Open University. She is certified in wine tasting (WSET awards levels 1 and 2, HESTIA Certificate Advanced on the Greek Terroir, level 3). Her research interests focus on the locus of tourism, wine, gastronomy and culture, as well as on the impacts of professional education on students’ ethos and development. With more than 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, she is a Lecturer and full-time member of Faculty at the Department of Tourism, Hospitality and Sport at Deree College; at the same time, she is the Internship Administrator for the School of Business and Economics. She has participated as a researcher in projects on active aging for SMEs such as EQUAL; she has presented in a series of international conferences on tourism and culture.
