Leonardos was born in 1984 and hails from Andros. He completed his studies in computer science in 2009 in Athens, and then moved to the Netherlands to pursue his postgraduate studies in network security and bioinformatics (VU Amsterdam). His PhD was completed in 2018 at Swansea University, where he specialized in clinical microbiology and hospital infections. Since then, he has worked at several universities abroad as a scientific researcher. Currently, he is an assistant professor at ACG, teaching various modules regarding computer science and bioinformatics. His research focuses on various bioinformatics topics, including metagenomics, comparative genomics, and GWAS of public health importance.
