The lab also utilizes a licensed CST Studio Suite through its collaboration with Aalborg University in Denmark. CST is a high-performance 3D EM analysis software package for designing, analyzing and optimizing electromagnetic (EM) components and systems. Electromagnetic field solvers for applications across the EM spectrum are contained within a single user interface in CST Studio Suite. It has also used the licensed ANSYS HFSS software for the same purpose. This software, which relies on finite element-based computation, is regarded as one of the most accurate and reliable by the industry and is widely used for commercial-grade simulations. It runs on a dedicated PC (with dual CPU, dual GPU, SSD, 4K monitor) and allows researchers to simulate the electromagnetic radiation of our antenna designs, as shown below (licensed from 2020 to 2021).
