About the speaker:

Michalis Peglis
Founder & CEO, Athensbnb Properties sa

Michalis Peglis holds a Ph.D. in European Political Parties from the University of Macedonia, a master’s degree in Public Administration and Public Policy from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelors degree with distinction in Political Science and International Relations from the Panteion University of Athens.

Michalis had parallel carreer in government and the European Union. He served national party representative to the European People’s Party (1997-1999 and 2006-2012) and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Greece Antonis Samaras (2012-2015) on the implementation of the adjustment programme of Greece in cooperation with the Troika institutions. In 2015 he joined the team of the new Leader of Nea Demokratia Kyriakos Mitsotakis as a Senior Policy Advisor in the field of boosting economic growth and structural reforms’ implementation (2015-2017). In 2017 he resigned and returned to his entrepreneurial endeavors.

In 2005 he bought his first property, while in 2010 he founded Athensbnb Properties SA implementing his investment plans in the field. During the crisis years of the Greek economy 2010-2018 the portfolio suffered significant losses that were recovered through further expansion. Today the company has property and land private assets of 82 units of about 8000 sq.meters and approx 14m euro value. The company is operating short, middle and long term renting services.
