ACG 150

The American College of Greece (ACG) continued its philanthropic tradition by supporting the Schisto Refugee and Asylum Seekers’ Camp in Schisto, Perama, for the second consecutive year. This initiative was part of a collaborative effort involving students, faculty, and staff from Deree College and Pierce College, participating in various academic seminars and societies. Together, they conducted a Donation Drive that successfully gathered 22 boxes of essential school supplies, which were delivered to the camp by 27 Deree students and faculty members, including Dr. Chryssa Zachou and Dr. Stella Apostolaki, Executive Director of the Center of Excellence in Sustainability, on March 20, 2024. During their visit, the group engaged with camp residents through educational activities centered around the Sustainable Development Goals, thereby enhancing their understanding of migration issues and fostering a culture of inclusivity and awareness. The event was celebrated with a thank-you board at Deree College, acknowledging the contributions and spirit of the community that underscored this humanitarian effort.
